DEPUTY Premier Jackie Trad singled out Rockhampton and Bundaberg as two regional areas bereft of infrastructure funding during the Newman Government’s reign.
She made the comment during an address about Energising infrastructure and trade for Queensland in Brisbane on Thursday.
Ms Trad described the biggest achievement of the previous LNP government as its decision to hand over South Bank’s planning responsibilities to the Brisbane City Council.
She then attacked the Newman Government’s treatment of regional areas.
“It was as if there was nothing in this state they couldn’t think small about,” Ms Trad said.
“If you don’t have the energy and imagination to pull together a vision for the very heart of our state’s capital city, one that already has so much going for it, how are Queenslanders in Rockhampton, in Mt Isa, in Bundaberg, in Townsville expected to have any hope?”
