The cost of car parking, building approvals and business permits will remain unchanged, while 141 redundant services have been crossed off council’s 69-page list of fees and charges.
In a move Mr Manning said would reduce red tape and modernise transactions, council will also absorb the $400,000 cost of scrapping a credit card surcharge for buying services.
However, the mayor remained tight-lipped about other key elements of the 2015-16 budget, due to be handed down on June 29, such as an expected rates rise.
“Last year the council brought down a rate increase of 1.5 per cent and I think that’s probably the lowest increase, cumulatively, since 2012,” he said. “I don’t think people will be too disappointed with the budget, though.”
