QUEENSLANDERS could be asked to shell out close to $2 million for the two-week Commonwealth Games in Glasgow starting next week.

Games Minister Jann Stuckey revealed the observer program alone, involving 37 people from the State Government and the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation, would cost $423,000.

Ms Stuckey is sending five officers from her department, along with representatives from State Development and Main Roads.
