RAJ REPORT

Comment of the Day NQ STATE——This is not a news flash. It has been an ongoing topic since 1859. Since the founding of Queensland as a colonial state in 1859, there is always an interest to split the state in half. You can’t expect to share same political interest in the communities of Brisbane and Townsville. Same issue for the Scottish independence, Scots don’t want to be managed, controlled and run by Westminster (London). Far north Queenslanders don’t want to be managed, controlled and run by Brisbane. Go for the split. I don’t care.

  1. You say this, Raj. “You can’t expect to share same political interest in the communities of Brisbane and Townsville”.
Well how about you tell me what Atherton and Moranbah have in common? The ridiculous Labor state government in Brisbane prior to the 2004 election decided to change the electorate of Tablelands to Dalrymple and give us to Moranbah or vice versa as in Moranbah being put in with us.

Have a look at the map and see how stupid that was and is. It is an absolutely ridiculous state of affairs and no one could care less except us up here.

A new state won’t happen until we get many more residents in the northern area.
